Any GotY DLC experiences?

10 replies 279 views Edited Mar 24, 2013
Hi, folks!
The Game of the Year Edition is available in the PS Store.
I'm playing this game since release and i'm sick changing the disc, hoping the ring will stop turning.
There are rumours about some advantages compared to the disc version.
True or not i'm trying to find out on this way.
Some say, gameplay will be "smoother" because it's faster to read directly from the HDD than from BR.
True or not?
The description on the store says the game plays in 720p, 1080i, 1080p.
The disc version only 720p.
Right or not?
As well i heard that buyed stuff will not work with the DLC.
True or not?
Finally the last question:
Some say the HDD reader isn't built for that work and will get damaged from intense use. BR reader are more relyable.
Right or not?
I'm not a specialist in that stuff, you know, and these rumours are very confusing.
What do you guys think?
Please, i don't need any ....storm about ND's moneymaking.
There are a lot of other threads for that Smiley Happy
Thanks

These are good questions and I too would like the answers. I would purchase the GOTYE if it works as well or better than my disc.

I downloaded free 2 play because my ps3's disc reader was broken (I have a new ps3 now, hooray!), so I downloaded UC3 free 2 play, and I definately thought the gameplay was 'smoother' when I played it, but it's a little a subjective question, so I advice you to check out the free 2 play yourself to see if it runs any better than usual... I don't know much about technical stuff, so I can't answer the other questions, one user who is frequently on these forums is tapantaola, to me it seems he knows a lot about such technical stuff, so maybe he can help you out... Smiley Wink

Let you know as soon i have got answers.

Seems pretty difficult to get light in the darkness.

Do you know how long it will take to download the game?

Seems as it lasts 24hours.

Pretty long time without playing PS.The delay while downloading is horrible...

Tapantaola knows the answer to some if not all of these questions. I haven't seen him here for a while. For now just copy and paste the OP and PM to him and when he get' back he'll respond because this thread may get buried and he may not see it.

Thanks for your advice. He has got a PM already. Let's see what Tapantaola knows.

I know his name, read some of his posts and think, he is the right man to answer my questions.

@ Matthijs_17:
Thanks for your impressions.
Got an answer that said, you are right.
Seems to be really better from the HDD.
How much time took the download of the F2p basic stuff? Do you remember?
