I used to care about W/l, but since my W/L was destroyed (well not really destroyed, but it went from 3 to 2.15) by disconnects etc when my internet SUCKED...I can't be bothered.
I still do care about winning though, just not the stat.
I always care about winning. That's what is most fun for me. I don't care if the odds are stacked against me. I'm going to try to win no matter what. KDR has always meant nothing. Winning is the only true measure of skill and smarts. Really, winning against good players is the only true test.
Nowadays I played U4 for around 3 months in the top competitive scene for team GET+ / GETPOISON (with 5 of its original members from U2 and U3) and had a overall record of 300+ wins and 30 losses on UMG before pretty much retiring as lack of competitive support and a worthwhile game killed the scene.
Well, I play the game to win. I'd rather win than lose. But I won't quit just because I'm gonna lose. However, I do quit when I'm having no fun or late joined a crappy game.
So, I play to win most the time, and don't enjoy losing, but I don't cry after a loss, and I don't use the lame as hell post-game-menu-quit-trick to avoid a loss.
