[FAQ] Contacting the Moderation Staff

0 replies 1692 views Edited Aug 10, 2012

When seeing something on the forum that you think is inappropriate, doesn't belong, or even if you would like a thread to be stickied/unsticked, the best way to handle the situation is to send a report to the Moderation staff.

There are a few ways that this can be done:

First, you can click on the "Report Inappropriate Content" link on the bottom left of every post. It looks like this:

OR

You can use the drop-down menu on the top right that says "Options" and scroll down to "Report Inappropriate Content"

When you click on it, it will redirect you here:

This provides you with a space where you may fill out what Rules that the post has broken or, if it's in the wrong space, where the threads new home should be.

Please Note:

That users that you report will only get in trouble if the thread/post breaks the Rules of Conduct. If all the thread requires is a move to a different space, or a sticky then it's no big deal.

What submitting a report does, is sends off a report to the Moderation Team. They then read the comments that you filled in before you submit the report, read the thread in question and then take the necessary action. As there are over 200 spaces in the PlayStation® Community, it helps the team a great deal when you use the report function. Another plus side to this is that all the entire team gets to see the report, not just one moderator.

You only need to send in ONE report per thread. When a moderator gets your report, they will also look at other posts in the same thread; no need to report every inappropriate post in the same thread.

If you have any questions regarding this process, you can ask in the Forum Help section or send a Private Message to PSForumMods
