I wonder if there's a way to notify people via PSN messages.

I've always wondered, do people be signed in and stay aigned in for days on end? The max I be signed in is for like 4-5 hours. Never 24 hours. Or have I read this completely wrong?

I think you just need to be online before it goes down, and not 2 days in advance. But I don't know. I do know that many online games kick user that stay online for too long. But I don't think PSN has that.

Pointless thread, everyone can bypass the PSN maintenance message anyway and just sign in..

Tutorial: try to sign in normally, you will get the message of PSN maintenance stuff, so you know you can't login as you usually do, next step is go to ps store, it will ask you to sign in, you say yes by pressing X, and keep it pressed till you sign in.

It always works unless the complete psn is down, which isn't the case. And people should know this by now, with the psn going down 12 times a year...

I can just sign in normally EVERY time WITHOUT having to do that. I still don't know the purpose of these notifications. Only the PS store and account management is down during the preplanned maintenance periods. Online play isn't affected AT ALL.
