Suggestion For Kickbacks on U4

I think kickbacks are probably here to stay. I don't know if anyone from NaughtyDog will read this post or of they've already cemented that system. Here's hoping.

I like how power plays were scaled back with a recent patch. I'm not suggesting scaling back kickbacks (though I'm not a big fan of them). Here's what I'm suggesting:

Make kickbacks have a meter that can give tiered kickbacks as you increase the meter.

Like in Street Fighter and other games where you are given meter rewards for performing better and the rewards can be used earlier or later depending on strategy.

Also, make it so you get some small meter points for damaging an opponent even if you don't get the kill. This will reward aggression. Then make assist medals, kill medals, and whatever other medals (I assume you'll continue with this mechanic) give much more meter rewards.

Tiers could be akin to the following:

1 - Carpet Bomb
2 - 2 shots of Tbolt (or comparable sniper)
3 - RPG/Hammer

I was thinking more Treasure Hunter - collecting Gold from chests to get your kickback.

It fits in with Uncharted universe, is very fair and balanced and can be easily controlled.

- you have to collect Gold Coins (or something) from chests (just like we currently collect 3 medal pick up from chests) and they go towards your kickback just the same as the medal count does now.

This way they work just like Power weapon spawns - you have to go and collect them.

The number of chests, locations, and respawn time.


Even in UC3 it works well.

Yeah but how likely is that?


@Blennerville- I made the suggestion so that not everything is kill based but action based. It'd make them more fun and strategic than they currently are in U3. I think the Cover medals don't promote active gameplay. Having the chest pickups could still be in the game but they would just clutter up areas needed for power weapon spawns. Also, the meter way would provide incentive for a team that doesn't have map control to continue to be aggressive when the power weapons aren't about to spawn.

More likely than keeping 'em, given the fact of how much the community complained about them, along with guns and boosters.

Keeping it simple would be the only safe way.

Yeah the community has complained about the Kal and Revenge forever. Never taken out.

I'll one up that: SA. They just made it worse in U3. I'm taking bets if you want to wager SA won't be in U4. I've got 50 large on SA being alive and well.

If they have to keep them... I'd rather they remove all offensive ones and keep / add defensive ones.

and I'd be okay with them keeping it. IF powerplays still exist.

 

Not that they ever should have existed.

Or make it so kickbacks can only be used once during a match so people will think before they just spam it & it would add some strategic element to it.
