General Knowledge:

1. Some treasures are very rare.

2. In Co-op Adventure, Easy/Normal treasures can be found on any difficulty, but Hard/Crushing treasures can only be found on Hard or Crushing difficulty.

3. Treasures disappear if they are not picked up.

4. Co-op Adventure Treasures are dropped by bosses. A list of which boss drops which treasure is below.

5. Treasures you've obtained before (Duplicates) can be posted to your Facebook Wall. Other people can click on the link and receive $500 of in-game cash

6. There is no way to know what a treasure is unless you pick it up.

7. You can pick up treasure after the game has been completed, but you do not keep it.

8. Your buddy's treasure appears green on the map. You can pick it up for them. Likewise, they can pick up your treasures for you

9. In Co-op Arena and Adventure, a dropped treasure can be picked up by everyone, regardless of who got the kill. In Co-op Hunter and all Competitve modes, the treasure is only available to whoever got the kill.

10. In Co-op Hunter, you can get a treasure when you are both Heroes or Villains.

Theories:

A lot of us seem to have different ideas and theories about the treasure system and how it works (None of these are necessarily true, just what people's ideas)

Zagna-Prototype7 - Each Co-op Adventure boss has its own unique drop rates. That would explain why some bosses drop nothing. EX: Why on London we kept getting crappy cup thing at the first boss (library) and the cross thing at the end boss (streets).

Jamiesti - Certain treasures drop at certain times of the day.

laticspieman - Basically I have been playing Team Deathmatch and I noticed that I was close to completing Ramses' KAL 7 treasure set - 2/3. I played about 2 hours and didn't get it. However when I eventually got it I had in the same match got the previous 2 treasures from that set in the same match. Is it a possibility that you can only complete a set by getting all of that set in one match? BTW I was owning going 25-3, 22-1, etc so I am sure treasures only drop when you are playing amazingly.

leviathanSP - How you kill an enemy decides the drop rate.

BrigadierSolo - Crushing improves Co-op drop rates.

Waterfox93 - Distance of the kill effects the drop rate.

Cion001 - Weapons with 3 mods are harder to unlock than weapons with 2 mods.

darthgeek8 - With Treasure Hunter on, there is less variety of treasures, even though they drop much more often. Without Treasure Hunter, the treasures are more diverse, so when they actually do drop, which is rare in the first place, it's more likely to be one you haven't collected before.

Ketsueki_Wolf - I think you can only complete so many treasure sets before it will just refuse to give you another unique treasure to complete a set unless you Legacy.

Boosters:

Booty Buddy (Booster Slot: 1, Competitive)

Get rewards from chests (3 Medal Chests) when your buddy does.

If your buddy gets a treasure from a 3 Medal Chest, you will too.

Treasure Hunter (Booster Slot: 2, Competitive)

Level 1: You have a better chance to receive treasures from 3 Medal Chests. 5 Acquisition medals needed to upgrade to Level 2.

Level 2: The chance to receive a treasure is increased. 15 Acquisition Medals needed to upgrade to level 3.

Level 3. The chance to receive a treasure is significantly increased.

(Acquisition Medal - Retrieve 3 treasures in one game. Treasures dropped from enemies, Just Cash medals and picking up you buddy's treasure all count towards your Acquisition Medals. Treasures from 3 Medal Chest do not count.)

Treasure Hunter has been known to increase drop rates when killing enemies in competitive modes.

Treasure Hunter only gives a .5% increase in the chance of getting a treasure from a 3 Medal Chest.

Treasure Hunter has no effect in Hardcore or any Co-op gametypes.

Glitches:

http://forums.naughtydog.com/t5/Multiplayer/Invisible-Treasure-Glitch/m-p/636221#M14176

- Doughnut Drake cannot be unlocked. The Skull Bead from the Smiling End does not drop. A Team Deathmatch treasure drops instead.*

- The Patterned Ring on London Underground and the Wrathful Mask on Syria are both partially glitched. When the right treasure drops, only one person gets the treasure. The other two players get blank treasures. There is debate around whether it is the first or second player to pick it up who gets the treasure.*

*In patch 1.04, the Doughnut Drake/Skull Bead (Hematite) glitch was fixed. The Skelzor/Wrathful Mask (Silver) glitch was also fixed.

However, some people are saying that they're still getting blank drops in London Underground, or that different players in the same game are getting different treasures.

Co-op Adventure:

Bosses that only appear on Crushing difficulty do not drop treasure and are therefore not included. The bosses are listed in order of appearance. The respective set will NOT be named, only the item. Please refer to the Treasure Sets section further up. Cyan treasures unlock Antiquity sets. Purple treasures unlock Artefact sets.

Please Note: After patch 1.04, the Co-op Adventure treasure system was changed. The information listed below may not be up to date, as some of the bosses that dropped multiple treasures for the same set may not still drop all those treasures.

Cyan text indicates an Easy/Normal treasure. Purple text indicates a Hard/Crushing treasure. Yellow text indicates a note.

Borneo:

Carpet Bomb Boss: Lion (IVORY), Skull (SILVER)

Armoured Shotgunner (where you pick up the Wes-44 from a pit, not a Kickback boss): Lion (SILVER), Skull Bead (SILVER)

Lieutenant Draza: Lion (GOLD), Yamantaka Head (SILVER)

London Underground:

Carpet Bomb Boss: Ottoman Bracelet (GOLD) (WolfiePL), Spanish Chalice (GOLD)

M-32 Hammer Boss: Pattern Ring (SILVER) (anidais) (see glitches section), Ottoman Bracelet (GOLD), Jeweled Cross (GOLD)

Monastery:

Carpet Bomb Boss:* (Hard, Normal and Easy) Yama On Buffalo (LAPIS-LAZULI), Spanish Goblet (GOLD) (VlCiOuS-V)

Cluster Bomb Boss:* (Crushing Only) Yama on Buffalo (LAPIS-LAZULI) (Bendtner92), Spanish Goblet (GOLD)

M-32 Hammer Boss: Skull Bead (HEMATITE), Spanish Goblet (SILVER)

*These two are the same boss, but have different Kickbacks on different difficulties.

Syria:

Cluster Bomb Boss: Wrathful Deity Head (GOLD)**, Wrathful Deity Head (SILVER)**, Wrathful Mask (SILVER), Thogchag Ghau Amulet (HEMATITE)

Carpet Bomb Boss: Wrathful Deity Head (SILVER), Shive Amulet (BRONZE), Shive Amulet (SILVER)

Brute: Wrathful Deity Head (GOLD), Shive Amulet (SILVER), Shive Amulet (BRONZE), Wrathful Mask (SILVER)**

**After the 1.04 Patch, these treasures cannot be gotten from these bosses anymore.

Airport:

Eddy: Antique Watch (SILVER), Sanxingdui Stickeye Head (GOLD)

Flynn: Ottoman Ring (GOLD), Wrathful Mask (GOLD)

Lazarevic: Antique Pipe (IVORY), Sanxingdui Flattop Head (GOLD)

Treasure Farming:

Competitive:

This is a very basic guide to getting Competitive treasures.

  1. Decide which set you wish to complete and start playing the right gametype.
  2. Kill other players and pick up any and all treasures that are dropped.

Tips:

  • Use the Treasure Hunter booster (try to level it up). It increases the drop rate of treasures, so you will get more treasures per game.
  • Party up with someone who is looking for a treasure from the same gametype as you are. Agree to try to pick up each other's treasures.
  • Always try to open the 3 Medal Chests. Especially if you are using Treasure Hunter.

There's no magic way to get any Competitive treasure. Just keep trying and you'll get it.

Co-op:

Treasures from Co-op Arena and Co-op Adventure can be gained more easily by farming.

According to the Official Uncharted 3 guidebook, playing on a harder Co-op difficulty does affect the drop rate of treasures.

"Playing on a higher difficulty setting can lead to more (and better) Treasure drops and more cash." pg. 210

(Contributed by branjasopia) http://community.us.playstation.com/thread/4662401?tstart=0

Co-op Arena farming:

A good guide to farming Co-op Arena treasures can be found here: http://community.us.playstation.com/thread/4653037

Co-op Adventure farming:

1. Work your way through the level until you reach the area of the boss which drops the treasure you want.

2. Kill the boss (don't kill all the other enemies in the area)*.

3. If the boss drops a treasure, go and pick it up.

4. If the boss didn't drop a treasure, or it wasn't the treasure you wanted, kill every member of your team (by grenading yourselves, or by letting the enemies kill you).

5. The Checkpoint will restart and you have another oppotunity to kill the boss.

*If you kill all the enemies in the boss's area, the next Checkpoint will save, and you will not get another chance to kill the boss, until you start a new game.

Please do not use either of these methods in a public game. It is annoying to other players who wish to finish the level. If you wish to farm, please do so in a custom game.

How 2 people can get the Wrathful Mask, thanks to aismo:

http://community.us.playstation.com/thread/4658798?tstart=0

"So after farming Syria like crazy, talking to people, reading, etc etc etc, I finally got Skelzor.

So basically here's my info:

-Played on Hard

-Used 2 people to Farm, not 3

-Both got the Wrathful Mask

-Got several other Amulets and whatnot over the course of it, but mainly the purple amulet

*We had all of the treasures, but we were both missing the Wrathful Mask, which is the hard one. Most of the treasures came from the normal bosses on the map. We only farmed the cluster bomb guy.

We both shot at him, but my teammate was the one who ultimately killed him. After that, my teammate was killed in the air so I had to revive him. Once I revived him, I picked the treasure up FIRST. For 4 seconds or so nothing popped up so I figured I got a blank. Then the Wrathful Mask popped up when my teammate picked his up. We both got the treasure, rather than just one of us getting it like we expected.

Hope that helps for anyone that was wondering. We were pretty good at farming, and would usually have 8 or so chances to get the treasure. I'd estimate we probably played Syria 20-30 times before we got it. We tried a number of different tactics (one person killing him, picking it up second/first, using only certain guns, melee kills...everything). I think its pretty much just completely random, but the good news is 2 people can get it rather than just 1 getting it."

FAQs:

(Questions that come up often will be put here with an answer.)

Q. Psyken: How does Booty Buddy exactly work?

A. sirmidor: Booty Buddy WILL get you the same treasure if your buddy gets a treasure from a 3 Medal Chest.

Q. Does it matter which Co-op Adventure "boss" you farm to receive a particular treasure?

A. Yes. A list of which boss drops which treasure acn be found above.

Q. I've played a certain mode so many times and can't I find the treasure.

A. All treasures are possible.

Q. Is it easier to get Co-op Adventure treasures if you play on Crushing difficult?

A. No. The extra bosses that Crushing gives you don't drop treasures. The drop rate seems to be the same even if you're playing Crushing.

Q. Is there an easier way of getting treasure in Co-op Adventure, rather than completed the whole stage?

A. Yes, you can farm certain bosses to get treasures. A beginner's guide to farming can be found above.

nice, i've been doing a lot of co-op and unlocked loads of character accessories but still not even found 1 treasure for any skins like Marco polo/skelzor :smileysad: and i've been doing hard co-op adventure nearly all the time.

do you know if the treasures for skins are more common in Crushing than in Hard?

I can't give you a definite answer but, I can say this:

I don't think crushing drops more items, ergo leaving it up to the original "Hard" enemies. I don't think they implemented a system where it would be easier to get skin drops from Crushing. I haven't played Crushing that much for skins because with my experience with Syria, it wasn't worth it and when I found out a trickI didn't bother with Crushing.

Great thread! I'll also have another things to add:

1) If you drop your treasure and your buddy picks it up for you, the acquisition medal does not count even if you equipped Booty Buddy booster on. However, if your buddy drops his/her treasure and you pick it up, it does count towards to your acquisition medal.

2) Just Cash medals does count towards your acquisition medal.

3) If you're trying to level up your booster quickly, so far Team Objectives gets me most of the treasure.

4) Treasure chests only increases .5% chance of getting a treasure.

5) Treasure Hunter Level 3 upgrade requires 15 Acquisition medals.

6) Equipping Booty Buddy will not get the same treasure as your buddy got (treasure drop), only treasure chests.

I'm currently on vacation, but when I get back, I'd like to party up with some Co-op Adventure Treasure Hunters and grind out some of these treasures. I'll spend an entire day playing the Co-op if need be.

Psyken (& JoninRock64), I want to know if- firsthand- Just Cash medals have lead to Acquisition medals for either of you.

I've had matches where I got 2 Just Cash medals, 1 treasure, and no Acquisitions medal. Could be a bug/glitch.

Either way, thanks for the helpful guide.
