It all depends on your flight style adam. I huge turrain a lot and I prefer it but pilots like soleistrike0 use the open air more and no normal pilot has an advantage over him
It was be awesome if someone in normal was a turrain pilot It would be possible with enough practice

I love the terrain. The only move I don't use is the "hover behind a mountain." I use the terrain as often as I can, especially when I have 2+ on me. Usually, if I see multiple planes behind me, I'll duck low and try to weave in and around mountains, and then pop up high, hit them with some LG and then duck back down to cover. I can usually finish one the way, and I like to do it around a pick-up I can use. For example in Eucadia, i'll dogfight on the far left/right weaving between the homing missile spawn and the LG spawn.
I guess it's my rank/tag but whenever I go high, it's like the friggin the Batman Spotlight. They see a star and all of a sudden every plane changes course and flies directly at me.
(I can also dogfight high but I prefer low...because it's better.)

I was on you the whole time but that's not what matters, every encounter is unique... while I don't respect the whole spinning thing, I was still impressed by how you flew. I know when someone is good and when someone isn't. My only criticism of you is that you don't have the offense of someone like Jetrotor... you have amazing defense with all that spinning but you're offense is limited... also you don't seem to watch your surroundings to much but I think you do it on purpose to get multiple people coming after you. It's all in how you play... I never criticize people but I don't like it when other people do... anyway thanks for the "sort of" props LOL. I don't play as much lately and really there's either a lot more better pilots or I'm not as good as I used to be... either way... warhawk is still fun and I'll be flying pro until I hang up my wings.
i wasnt being so offensive because there were so many planes that i couldnt when i started to lock a homing on someone all of a sudden i get like 10-20 swarms and 1 or 2 homings headed my way LOL..

1)Use Normal flight(uncheck Pro flight in the control menu for warhawks(kind of a no brainer)).
2)pull back on the right analog stick.
3)once your plane is about half way thru the loop and the nose of the plane is facing your screen(you) start moving the right stick up and down to keep the camera looking behind you.
I can get my warhark to fly with the screen looking behind, whats the advantage of doing this ? I cant seem to lock on to other targets while doing this .....
4)Hold R2 and L2 so you can quickly flip around and lock missles. ( power sliding when the screen is facing backwards and locking on, again I fail to understand the advantage of this )

4) you can hold the lock so if the other pilot shoots a few missiles at you, you can dodge them and because you already got that missile locked you can let it go and the pilot chasing you won't be able to dodge it

You could but thats cheap not even i do that and you still have to be facing them to shoot the missle and get a hit otherwise it just goes where the nose of your plane is facing..its mostly used for tracking Cybran. You are able to see what your opponent is doing and when u flip around you know exactly where he is and while he is disoriented and doesnt know where you are you lock a homing.

thanks guys, I tried to do this but kept getting owned real bad....
Are there any good flying guides for warhawk ? I tried both pro and normal.. with normal @ least you can dodge ( swarm, Homing, SAM ). With PRO swarms can be dodged @ times but Homing and SAM without chaff is deadly.

I started collecting some of the tips/threads here:

I know there are more threads though.

Proof! That just because you can do it doesnt mean you all of a sudden have a advantage over Pro Flight and that it does take skill to master...
It depends on which one is more fun for you just pick one and keep at it.

Cool you can add a link back here or just copy any of this stuff if you want to add it there
