inFamous Series Characters Thread

9 replies 1128 views Edited Sep 5, 2010

With the deluge of inFamous 2 information that has been revealed in the last two or three months, I've decided to create a thread that gives a run down on the characters that have been revealed so far aswell as the characters from the first game. As more info on the already revealed characters is released and new characters are shown, I'll update this thread accordingly.

Edit: I've decided to include characters from the first game in the thread from now on instead of limiting it to ones from inFamous 2. I'll be adding those characters aswell as updating the existing profiles over the next week or so.Due to the fact that the thread is now covering a longer period of time than it was previously, I'll be breaking down the character profiles under the following headings:

Kessler's timeline: (anything that happened to characters in the timeline Kessler came from)

Pre-Blast: (anything that occurred before the RaySphere explosion in the first game)

Post Blast: (anything that occurred between the RaySphere explosion and Day 14 of the quarantine)

inFamous: (anything that occurred during the main body of the first game)

inFamous 2: (anything that has been revealed about the characters role in inFamous 2)

If you have anything to contribute to the thread such as images or recently revealed information, either post below or send me a PM and I'll make sure to add you to the credits.

 Cole MacGrath

(portrayed by Jason Cottle/Eric Ladin)

inFamous 2: At the beginning of inFamous 2, Cole finally faces the nemesis Kessler was preparing him for, the Beast. However, due to Kessler meddling with the timeline, Cole is not prepared for the confrontation. This leads to a resounding defeat at the Beast's hands and he is forced to flee from Empire City with Zeke who Cole has not yet fully forgiven for his role in Trish's death. They end up reaching New Marais, the city where Kessler developed the Raysphere, by traveling through the surrounding swamps in the hope of finding First Son technology that will enhance his powers.

Upon their arrival however, Cole finds himself persecuted by the Militia who now control the city and must contend with mutants formed by the RaySphere detonation. At some point during the game, he and Zeke infiltrate a Militia rally in an attempt to find out from their leader Bertrand where a person called Wolf is. The rally is broken up by attacking mutants and he is then knocked off Bertrand's car by a helicopter before he can get his information. Later on the game, Cole somehow develops ice powers.

Zeke Dunbar

(portrayed by Caleb Moody)

inFamous 2: At the start of the second game, Zeke escapes from Empire City with Cole after his encounter with the Beast. They later arrive in New Marais and Zeke tries out parkour for the first time. Shortly after their arrival, Zeke develops a device known as the Amp that improves Cole's hand-to-hand combat. He infiltrates the Militia rally with Cole and lets him know about Bertrand's departure after the mutants attack.

The Beast

inFamous 2: The Beast is an extremely powerful Conduit who has pyrokinetic abilities. Due to Kessler meddling with the timeline, he emerges much earlier than he did in Kessler's timeline. The details of his origin are unknown but he soon proceed to attack Cole in Empire City. The Beast defeats him but Cole manages to escape to New Marais. The Beast then travels down the coast to finish Cole off, devastating cities along the way.

The identity of the Beast is currently a mystery. However, there are plenty of theories about who he could be. These include the Beast being John White, Alden Tate, another alternate version of Cole or a government creation gone wrong. It is also possible that the Beast is the physical manifestation of whatever Cole and John sensed was in the RaySphere before it cracked open.

Bertrand

infamous-2-annoncee-infamous-2201006-18-1001-1276940973-1.jpg picture by Andy-McK-4ever

inFamous 2: Bertrand is the leader of the Militia in the second game. After the RaySphere detonation from Empire City began to cause people to mutate, he formed the gang in opposition to Conduits and gained a lot of support from the citizens of New Marais. At some point during the game, he holds a Militia rally but it is broken up by an attack by the mutants. He is threatened briefly by Cole until a helicopter knocks Cole off of his car.

Alden Tate

Moya Jones

(portrayed by Kimberli Colbourne)

1072430-gamefeaturesmoyalarge_super.jpg picture by Andy-McK-4ever

Pre-Blast: Before the Blast, Moya began a career working for the United States government. She was eventually given a job at DARPA and soon became an imprtanat agent. At some point, she was assigned the task of tracking down an NSA agent called John White who had infiltrated the First Sons.

Post-Blast: After the Blast occured, Moya was stationed close to Empire City, possibly as the person in charge of the quarantine.

inFamous: After Moya learns of the footage of Cole shown in Archer Square, she waited in the decontamination unit of the quarantine until Cole attempts to escape. She strikes a deal with him promising to get him and Zeke out of the quarantine if they find John, who she claims is her husband. After this encounter, Moya stays in regular contact with Cole getting him to perform certain tasks like rescue her contact, Bradon Carrey and informing him of the locations of Empire City's substations.

Throughout the game, she is also contacted by Zeke who puts forward his theories about the RaySphere. This leads to her trying to convince Cole to cut him out of the deal. After Cole discovers Moya was lying about her connection with John she ceases to contact her. She later contacts Cole telling him that the military are preparing for a ground invasion of Empire City due to Cole abandoning their deal.

The Beast (Kessler's timeline)

better_The_Beast.jpg picture by Andy-McK-4ever

Kessler's timeline: The Beast was an extremely powerful Conduit with pyrokinetic abilities. He started devloping powers around the same time as Cole did and began a campaign to gain dominance over the world. this included the murder of millions of people (including Trish). After Cole travelled back in time, it is presumed he began to rule over the wasteland that the world had become.

Zeke Dunbar (Kessler's timeline)

The_Wedding-1-.jpg picture by Andy-McK-4ever

Kessler's timeline: In this timeline, Zeke still had a frienbdly relationship with Cole and was given the responsibility of best man at the wedding between him and Trish. He is presumed to have been killed in the Beast's campaign of destruction.

Trish Dailey (Kessler's timeline)

The_Wedding_2.jpg picture by Andy-McK-4ever

Kessler's timeline: In this timeline, Trish was in a relationship with Cole and later married him. They later had two children together and when Cole began to develop powers, Trish stuck by him. When the Beast began his campaign of destruction, Trish and her family fled in order to survive. She was later killed by the Beast along with her children.

Wolfe

inFamous 2: Nothing is currently known about Wolf apart from the fact that Cole is looking for him at the time of the Militia rally. However, the fact that Bertrand supposedly knows where he/she is may mean that he/she is a researcher for the First Sons who is now working for or being held captive by the Militia. Alternatively, it could be the name of the prisoner shown in the Comic-con cutscene.

Unknown Prisoner

 New_Marais_Conduit.png picture by Andy-McK-4ever

inFamous 2: Like Wolf, almost nothing is known about this prisoner shown at the end of the Comic-con cutscene. However, the fact that he/she is shown when Cole talks about amping up his powers and the glowing blue veins on his/her cheeks and arms may mean that it is some form of Conduit who can grant powers to others (kind of like a reversed version of Leech from X-Men: The Last Stand). It is also possible that this character and Wolfe are one and the same.

Dallas/Voice of Survival

(portrayed by Derrick Forget)

Pre-Blast: Due to his ability to interrupt television signals, it is possible Dallas had a past in broadcasting pirate radio or television.

Post-Blast: In the chaos that occured after the Blast, Dallas became stranded in the Historic district. Soon afterwards, he sealed himself into the local TV station. Dubbing himself the Voice of Survival, he began to broadcast messages about the situation in Empire City. At some point during the second week of the quarantine, Dallas was pressured by Kessler to turn the city against Cole.

inFamous: At the start of the third week of the quarantine, Dllas informed the Neon's residents of a food drop in Archer Square. A few minutes later, he broadcasted a picture of Cole holding the RaySphere moments before the Blast. Thgroughout the next few days, he broadcasted further propaganda slandering Cole such as claiming Cole had a criminal record which was dropped due to his rich parents and that he assisted in Alden's escape from prison. Later in the week, Dallas outlived him usefulness to Kessler and was gunned down by the First Sons.

Richard Tate

Pre-Blast:At some point during the 19th century, Richard officially founded the First Sons. Inspired by the work of Thomas Eddison he began the production of the RaySphere. He also has a son, Alden, with an unknown woman who he groomed from an early age to take control of the organisation. At some point in the 20th century Kessler arrived and staged a coup in the First Sons. Kessler became the new leader and Richard was presumably killed.

Warden Harms

(portrayed by John Patrick Lowrie)

Pre-Blast: At some point before the blast, Harms started a career in the police and became warden of the Eagle Point Penitentiary in Empire City. This presumably also made him the officer in charge of the 43rd Precinct.

Post-Blast: In the chaos that occured after the Blast, Warden Harms and a significant number of other police officers became stranded in the Warren district. The police force soon became subjected to near-constant attacks from the Dust Men.

inFamous: Harms regularly contacted Cole during the third week of the quarantine requesting his help with a number of operations. The most important of these operations was the arrest of Alden Tate and the subsequent attempt at preventing his rescue.

Amy Dailey

Pre-Blast: During her childhood, Amy lived in Empire City with her father, mother and sister Trish. She regularly went camping with Trish and their father as well as with Roger Miller an engineer who worked with their father. Later in her life the family moved upstate where Amy graduated. She moved back to Empire City sometime later along with Trish.

Post-Blast: Amy was one of the many victims of the RaySphere explosion. Her sister Trish kep a picture of her in order to preserve her memory.

Director Houston

Pre-Blast: Some time before the Blast, Houston became the director of the NSA. He oversaw many operations including John White's infiltration of the First Sons.

Post-Blast: Some time after the Blast, Houston left a Dead Drop for John which sympatised with him and informed him that a helicopter would be waiting to extract him at drop point Zeta at 16:30 every day. This message was never collected by John and the chopper was presumably the one destroyed by a Dust Men Conduit in the Warren

Roger Miller

(portrayed by David Frederick White)

Pre-Blast: Long before the Blast, Roger worked with Trish and Amy's dad as an engineer and had a friendly relationship with the entire Dailey family which included going on camping trips with them. This relationship ended however when Trish and Amy's father got transferred upstate. He also struck up a friendship with a fellow engineer called Lou and later attended Amy Dailey's graduation.

Post-Blast: In the chaos that occured after the Blast, he became stranded in the Warren district.

inFamous: During the third week of the quarantine, Roger was captured by the Dust Men who planned on forcing him to work of the junk tower. He was quickly rescued by Cole who enlisted his help in lowering the Stone Canal Drawbridge between the Neon and Warren. Later in the week, he rigged up the roof of an armoured bus with a constant electrical current to help Cole protect it from Reaper and Dust Men attacks.

Lou

(portrayed by Mark Lund)

Pre-Blast: At some point before the Blast, Lou began a career as an engineer. He also struck up a friendship with a fellow engineer, Roger Miller.

Post-Blast: In the chaos that occured after the Blast, Lou became stranded in the Neon district.

inFamous: During the third week of the quarantine, Lou is captured by the Reapers who were planning on seeling him to the Dust Men to work on the junk tower. He is soon freed by Cole who enlists his help in lowering the Stone Canal Drawbridge between the Neon and Warren.

Brandon Carrey

(portrayed by Tom Gourrant)

Pre-Blast: At some point before the Blast, Brandon married a woman called Lynnae. He also started a career as an engineer and became one of Moya's contacts in Empire City.

Post-Blast: In the chaos that occured after the Blast Brandon became stranded in the Neon district along with Lynnae. At some point late in the second week of the quarantine, he was abducted by the Reapers and dragged off before Lynnae was killed. He was then brought down to the sewers so they could control the Neon's electricity supplies.

inFamous: Early in the third week of the quarantine, Brandon is tracked down by Cole in order to be rescued. However, he prevents Cole from passing through a gate as he believes the Reapers will kill Lynnae. Depending on Cole's actions, he is either informed of her death and lets Cole through or is killed and the gate opens anyway.

Lynnae Carrey

Pre-Blast: At some point before the Blast, Lynnae married an engineer, Brandon Carey, who had connections to DARPA.

Post-Blast: In the chaos that occured after the Blast, Lynnae became stranded in the Neon district along with her husband. At some point late in the second week of the quarantine, she was murdered by the Reapers during their abduction of Brandon.

inFamous: Early in the third week of the quarantine, Cole used Psychic Vision on her body in order to track down Brandon.

Dwight

(portrayed by Bon Hippie)

Pre-Blast: At some point before the Blast, Dwight stole Zeke's car and proceeded to strip it down and sell it for parts. This created a feeling of hostility between the two causing Zeke to describe him as "a real tool". He also had a job in a Chummy Chicken fast-food restaurant in the Warren.

Post-Blast: In the chaos that occured after the RaySphere explosion, Dwight became stranded in the Warren district.

inFamous: At some point during the third week of the quarantine, Dwight was killed by a group of Scrap Crabs created by a Dust Men Conduit. Cole later uses Psychic vision on his body to track down the Conduit and avenge Dwight's death.

Loosening up Cole's shirt would be good, looks like 3 sizes too small. And giving him some hair, he looks like a tool. Not that Newcole didn't look like a tool, but this Cole is also a tool. He has the look of "The Bully" from RStar's "The Bully"

Updated the  OP with the news that the thread will be expanding to include characters from the first game aswell as inFamous 2. I also added the information we currently have about the Beast in inFamous 2, began to add details of who the characters are voiced by and included a credits section at the end of the post.

The thread looks pretty good. One thing that I really like that you did was make each picture the same dimensions. I don't know why, but 99% of people don't think to do this and it makes their threads look sloppy.

Forget the look for a second and focus on how awesome this game is gonna be! New amazing powers are coming!

I like this Cole honestly. He looks similar to the Cole in InFamous 1. I think as we get deeper in the story of the game, his hair should grow to eventuall being the way it is in the first InFamous 2 gameplay trailer.

Re: inFamous 2 Characters Thread

Aug 22, 2010

It's great to see all of the support this thread is getting. The latest update doesn't have that much, just some basic placeholders for the remaining characters (names, pictures and voice actors) but I might be adding a bit more later today aswell as tidying up the bottom of the post and adding some of the VAs I left out.

Soory about the lack of an update for the last while (I'm back to chool this wekk so getting uniform, stationary, etc ate up alot of my time). Anyway, I've finished the profiles of all the minor characters and unless there is a huge amount of info shown at PAX, I should be able to finish off one character profile a day from now on (with the exception of Cole).
